Cambodia's coach selects the best possible players for the 2026 Asean Cup.

Coach Koji Gyotoku confirmed that the lineup selected for the ASEAN Hyundai Cup 2026 preparations consists of the most fitting and best players currently available for Cambodia's national team.

The ASEAN Hyundai Cup 2026 will begin in just over two weeks. Cambodia's team is placed in Group A alongside defending champions Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, and Timor-Leste.

"In selecting the players for this Hyundai Cup preparation, I want to express my sincere gratitude to all clubs for their understanding and cooperation, enabling the players to join the Cambodian national team even though this program falls outside the FIFA international match calendar and coincides with a crucial period for clubs preparing for the new season," said Coach Koji Gyotoku.

The Japanese manager revealed that the Cambodian team also respects each club's preparation schedule. After discussions between the parties, some players will remain with their clubs to carry out their duties and will not participate in this training camp.

"At the same time, respecting each club's plans and following joint discussions, some players need to continue fulfilling their responsibilities at their clubs.

"With this selected squad, including players who have their first opportunity to represent the national team, we believe these are the most suitable and best choices for Cambodia's team at the present moment," emphasized Coach Koji Gyotoku.

To prepare for the 2026 ASEAN Hyundai Cup, the Cambodian team will hold a training camp in Japan with all called-up players.

"We will organize the best possible training process throughout the camp in Japan with all selected players, aiming to be fully ready and display the finest performance of the Cambodian team at the Hyundai Cup.

"Finally, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the Japan Football Association (JFA) for their immense support and cooperation in arranging the training camp in Japan, helping the Cambodian team prepare for the Hyundai Cup," said Coach Koji Gyotoku.

According to the draw results, Cambodia is in Group A alongside Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, and Timor-Leste. Coach Koji Gyotoku and his squad will face significant challenges in competing for a spot to advance, with Vietnam entering the tournament as the defending champions.
