Great victory, Spain officially becomes champion for the 10th time in history

Spain U19 beat Germany 2-0 in the UEFA U19 European Championship final, claiming their 10th trophy and adding another historic record.

Spain U19 continues to assert their dominance in the European youth arena after defeating Germany U19 2-0 in the UEFA U19 European Championship final. The victory at Racecourse Ground earned La Roja their 10th title, an unprecedented record in the tournament's history.

The final was quite balanced in the opening minutes. Germany started confidently and created several dangerous chances, particularly through Otto Stange. However, goalkeeper Manu Gonzalez played brilliantly, making consecutive saves from the opponent's shots, helping Spain withstand the pressure.

After an initial difficult period, Spain gradually regained control thanks to their ball possession and coherent attacking organization. In the 38th minute, Xavi Espart made an impressive dribble before passing to Hugo Lopez. The Spanish striker handled it skillfully, but his shot hit the crossbar.

Mario Rivas celebrates scoring Spain's second goal

Despite missing a golden opportunity, Hugo Lopez did not have to wait long to get his name on the scoresheet. In the 43rd minute, Thiago Pitarch executed a delicate touch to send the ball to Daniel Yanez. Yanez's shot hit the post and rebounded, and Lopez was immediately in position to tap it in from close range, opening the scoring for Spain just before halftime.

This goal gave the red-clad team greater confidence heading into the second half. Just three minutes after the restart, Spain doubled their lead. From Daniel Yanez's corner kick, Mario Rivas leaped high to head the ball into the German net, making it 2-0 and putting La Roja in an extremely favorable position.

Germany fought hard in the remaining part of the match. Moritz Reimers, Jykese Fields, Montrell Culbreath, and Francis Onyeka all had notable shots, but the Spanish defense remained focused. Manu Gonzalez continued to be a solid anchor with crucial saves.

The victory over Germany brought La Roja's total number of U19 European Championship titles to 10

The 2-0 win not only helped Spain successfully defend their title, following the 2024 championship and the 2025 runner-up finish, but also set a special record. La Roja became the first team to win the UEFA U19 European Championship without conceding a single goal throughout the tournament.

With five clean sheets and scoring at least two goals in every match, Spain U19 had a nearly perfect campaign. The 10th title further proves that Spanish youth football remains the top model in Europe.
