White House World Cup official: Supports England to defeat Argentina and win the championship! Trump praises Kane heavily

The much-anticipated World Cup semifinal is set to begin, as England challenges the reigning champions Argentina. On July 14 Beijing time, Andrew Giuliani, the executive director of the White House World Cup Working Group, told the Mail that he will give his full backing to England to beat Argentina in the semifinal and go on to lift the World Cup trophy.

Andrew Giuliani said bluntly that since the U.S. team was unfortunately eliminated in the round of 16, it is already impossible for them to win the World Cup on the 250th anniversary of the nation's founding. However, if England can win the title and lift the trophy during America's anniversary celebrations, it would be a "very wonderful story."

The White House World Cup official stated directly: "As I understand it, the England team has endured 60 years of hardship, so if they can win this World Cup, it would be a beautiful victory. I absolutely believe England has the ability to go all the way and win the championship—they are one of the top teams still remaining."

"In my view, England is an extremely balanced team. The players must be full of confidence, and the coach needs to instill in them a belief that they have every potential to win the title."

Giuliani also revealed that U.S. President Donald Trump supports England's championship bid: "The president is closely following Kane's performance in this tournament. A few years ago, Kane and Rooney, among others, played golf with Trump! Kane is England's top scorer. If they are to win this World Cup, he will be the key man. He is one of the core players in the squad, and both he and Bellingham are outstanding athletes."

Trump himself is a fan of Kane and has praised him publicly on multiple occasions. After England's 3-2 victory over Mexico to reach the quarterfinals, Trump posted on social media: "Kane is a great player!"

It is worth noting that the referee for the semifinal between England and Argentina is an American—the prominent U.S. official Ismail Elfath—and both assistant referees are also from the United States.

FIFA deliberately avoided referees from South America and Europe, choosing the host nation's U.S. officiating team to ensure neutrality.
