The sweet ending of Thai Son Bac

Thai Son Bac officially claimed the 2026 HDBank National Futsal Championship by defeating Tan Hiep Hung Ho Chi Minh City 6-0 in the last round. Winning their second league title after the 2010 season, the capital side reaped the rewards of a methodical and enduring investment strategy.

Before the final round, the championship race was only between Thai Son Bac and Thai Son Nam Ho Chi Minh City.

With a one-point advantage over their opponent,Thai Son Bacheld the initiative, needing only a win to claim the title without caring about the result of the other match.

Meanwhile, Thai Son Nam Ho Chi Minh City had to defeat Sahako and hope for a slip-up from Thai Son Bac to successfully defend their crown.

Coach Tran Van Vu's team had a relatively easy 4-2 victory over Sahako. Chau Doan Phat opened the scoring in the 8th minute, but Moreira quickly equalized for Sahako.

Italo Henrique helped Thai Son Nam regain the lead before halftime, before Quang Toan brought the match back to square one in the second half. However, the champions' composure shone through as Minh Man and Thinh Phat scored in turn to seal a 4-2 victory.

Nevertheless, Thai Son Nam's three points were not enough to help them retain the title. In the simultaneous match, Thai Son Bac showed the quality of a top team by completely dominating Tan Hiep Hung Ho Chi Minh City.

In the 5th minute, Cong Dai opened the scoring after an assist from Thac Hieu. In the second half, Jediael Mota made it 2-0 with a powerful 10-meter free kick. When Tan Hiep Hung used a power-play strategy to find a goal, the capital team fully exploited the spaces behind to add more goals.

Cong Dai completed a hat-trick, while Quang Vinh and Trong Kien also got on the scoresheet, wrapping up a resounding 6-0 victory.

This victory helpedThai Son Bacfinish the season with 37 points, exactly one point more than Thai Son Nam Ho Chi Minh City to officially be crowned champions of the 2026 HDBank National Futsal Championship. This is the capital team's second national title after first winning it in 2010, ending a 16-year wait.

Their squad includes many Vietnamese futsal internationals such as goalkeeper Van Tu, Tu Minh Quang, Da Hai, Ngoc Anh, and Cong Dai – key players who contributed to the team's consistent strength throughout the season.

At the closing ceremony, Vice President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Tran Anh Tu directly presented the championship trophy to Thai Son Bac. In addition to Thai Son Bac's title, the organizers also awarded the runner-up trophy to Thai Son Nam Ho Chi Minh City, Sahako finished third, and Thai Son Nam received the Fair Play award.

Tu Minh Quang (Thai Son Bac) was voted the Best Player of the tournament, Doan Minh Quang (Sahako) received the Best Goalkeeper award, while Italo Henrique of Thai Son Nam Ho Chi Minh City won the Top Scorer award with 21 goals.
