French national team star decides not to renew contract with PSG, agrees to join Liverpool

Liverpool has made an important advance in their recruitment strategy for Bradley Barcola following the player's approval.

However, the Anfield side still has much work to do before they can complete the deal with Paris Saint-Germain.

According to a report from L'Equipe, Barcola has agreed in principle to move to Liverpool. The 23-year-old winger has also decided not to extend his current contract with PSG, even though his deal still runs until June 2028. This move is seen as a positive signal, giving the English club an opportunity to accelerate negotiations.

Sources from the French newspaper say Barcola has had several exchanges in recent days with Liverpool officials. Notably, he also directly spoke with head coach Andoni Iraola. These meetings are said to have gone very smoothly, leading the French international to decide he is ready to join the Anfield club if the two teams reach an agreement.

However, L'Equipe emphasizes that there is currently no official contract agreement between Liverpool and Barcola. This contradicts some information that appeared in Italian media earlier.

In fact, the only thing that has been agreed upon is Barcola's desire. The player born in 2002 hopes the deal will become a reality if Liverpool and PSG find common ground on the transfer fee.

On the side of the French capital club, PSG has become more open to letting Barcola leave after a long period of insisting on keeping him. However, the Ligue 1 champions have no intention of lowering the price or making it easy for Liverpool.

According to L'Equipe, the gap between the two clubs' valuations remains quite large. PSG maintains a firm stance on their financial demands, while Liverpool is trying to find a compromise to bring the deal to completion.

Convincing Barcola is seen as one of the biggest hurdles Liverpool has overcome. However, the deal can only be completed if the Merseyside club agrees to meet PSG's conditions or if the two sides find common ground in upcoming negotiations.

At the moment, Barcola's future has not yet been decided. But with the player himself giving the green light to Liverpool, the door to the Premier League is clearly opening wider than before.
