Manchester United defender stays after meeting with Carrick, rejects Amorim's invitation! One player may not get playing time in the new season

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported this week that Mazraoui has switched agents, joining the "Panthera Agency." Some speculated that the change was to facilitate a transfer away from Manchester United, but that is not the case.

After meeting with head coach Carrick, Mazraoui has decided to stay at Manchester United and will not consider a transfer this summer. Moroccan source Abjad Sofiane revealed: "Mazraoui has received offers and interest from several clubs, especially after his impressive World Cup performance. But he has decided to continue fighting alongside Manchester United. He also had several direct conversations with coach Carrick, who emphasized Mazraoui's importance in his future plans and assured him that he is one of the key players he relies on for next season."

Regarding Mazraoui's decision to change agents, Sofiane explained: "By the way, his contract with the previous company expired, so he decided to join Panthera, where he has friends, that's all. The agent change was purely due to the contract expiration."

The 28-year-old Mazraoui is a right-back, but he can also play left-back, center-back, or even winger, and he rarely misses games due to injury, which is rare in the Manchester United squad. That's why Carrick values him highly. His contract with the club runs until the summer of 2028, with a one-year extension option.

Earlier this month, there were reports that AC Milan's new head coach Ruben Amorim wanted to sign Mazraoui from Manchester United during the summer transfer window. When he coached the Red Devils, Amorim spoke highly of Mazraoui and even listed him as one of the six leaders in the dressing room.

Italian transfer journalist Matteo Moretto said: "There are no negotiations underway at the moment, and no direct contact between the two clubs. But what I can tell you is that Mazraoui is indeed a player highly appreciated by Amorim. Let's see if Milan will take action later in the transfer window. For now, I'm referring purely to the coach's recognition of him; Amorim really admires Mazraoui's qualities."

Recently, Amorim publicly admitted that he made many mistakes during his tenure as Manchester United manager, but stressed that he also learned a lot.

"First of all, none of that matters anymore," Amorim said at Milan's pre-season tour press conference in Australia. "I learned a lot. It's hard to say what the most important thing is, but I clearly realized that I made many mistakes. When you reflect like that and realize that it's not just others' fault, but also my own, I think you can become a better coach and a better person."

Amorim concluded: "That's how I feel. After things happen, situations change, and then you have to focus on the next challenge."

Manchester United goalkeeper Altay Bayındır, who started under Amorim early last season, now faces an uncertain future. If he cannot find a new club, he may not play at all in the new season, as the club has signed Karl Darlow to replace him as the second-choice goalkeeper.

Manchester United gave the 28-year-old Bayındır an extended holiday, hoping he could find a new club. However, although several top Turkish clubs, including his former club Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş, have been frequently linked with him, there has been no substantial progress so far.

Bayındır had to return to Manchester United after the World Cup and join the goalkeeper training group. When asked about his future, Bayındır said frankly: "I have no idea. We'll just have to wait and see; time will tell us everything."
