Then, West Coast player Zhang Xiuwei tackled and brought down Iron Man player Zang Yifeng. Seeing that the referee did not make a call, an angry Mbenza retaliated by deliberately pushing West Coast player Zhang Chengdong, who had physical contact with him. The latter then fell to the ground covering his face in pain. The referee decisively showed a red card and sent Mbenza off.

After being sent off, Mbenza raised his hand to apologize to the Iron Man fans. In the end, with one man down, Liaoning Iron Man conceded a goal in the 73rd minute of the second half, losing 0-1 to their opponents. Ultimately, Mbenza did not escape the heavy penalty from the Chinese Football Association.

This season, the 26-year-old Mbenza has played 19 CSL matches for Iron Man, starting 18 of them, contributing 9 goals and 1 assist. His 4-match suspension is undoubtedly a significant loss for Liaoning Iron Man.
