Born in 1983 in Hanoi, Trịnh Quốc Hưng was a talented midfielder who played for Hanoi ACB. He was highly regarded for his technical and intelligent style of play. However, a serious injury during a match for promotion to the V-League in 2006 severely impacted his career, leading to his retirement in 2009.

After retiring, Trịnh Quốc Hưng moved to youth training at the Hanoi Sports Training and Competition Center. He led the Hanoi U15 team to become runners-up in the 2010 National U15 Championship, contributing to the development of many young players for the capital's football.
Besides coaching, Trịnh Quốc Hưng was widely known as a sports commentator. He was a familiar face on VTVCab channels, leaving a mark with his engaging voice and professional yet approachable commentary. He was also involved for many years with the HPL amateur football league and many domestic sports programs and events.
