Expose Manchester United's only doubt about signing Cunha with 62.5 million! Rajue wants to pay in installments, and Mendes joins the negotiations

Manchester United are increasingly confident of signing Wolves striker Mateus Cunha in the summer window, with some insiders even suggesting that it is a foregone conclusion. The club have been in talks with Cunha's agent for some time and are keen to complete the transfer as soon as possible.

Sources have revealed to TEAMtalk that United are confident that Cunha will definitely join, with an official announcement likely to be made as early as June 1, when the summer window first opens. Cunha has been impressed by what Amorim has told him about United's rebuilding plan and is keen to move to Old Trafford. Whether or not United win the Europa League and qualify for the Champions League, Cunha's willingness to join is the main motivation for the club to focus on bringing him in.

Cunha has scored 17 goals and provided six assists for Wolves this season, 15 of them in the Premier League, which has seen him equalling the all-time record for a Brazilian player. In the past, only two Brazilians, Liverpool's Roberto Firmino and Arsenal's Martinelli, have scored 15 goals in a single Premier League season, with Cunha still four games to break that record, with Wolves next up against Manchester City, Brighton, Crystal Palace and Brentford.

Interestingly, Wolves are currently level on points with Manchester United in 15th place on goal difference, as Amorim's side have shifted their focus to the Europa League, and if Cunha continues to score goals, Wolves could overtake their future club in league qualification.

The 25-year-old has a £62.5 million liquidated damages clause in his contract and Wolves will demand full payment, although there may be some room for negotiation on the payment structure. Manchester United are short of cash after Sir Jim Ratcliffe's takeover, and although they are willing to pay the full liquidated damages, Rajue wants to pay in instalments.

Now, Portuguese superagent Jorge Mendes has joined Cunha's transfer talks. Mendes is known to have worked closely with Wolves, with six signings, and although the number of his players playing for the team has decreased in recent years, his influence is still huge, and it is said that Manchester United want to pay for Cunha in installments, and Mendes must give the nod of approval, although he is not directly representing Cunha's agent, it is the work of Brazilian Giuliano Bertolucci.

British media revealed that before Cunha joined Wolves, Bertolucci first negotiated with Mendes, and now he is leaving. Former Manchester United chief scout Mike Brown revealed: "The £62.5 million buy-out clause in Cunha's contract is a lot of money and it could be a big problem because United don't have that much money at the moment. They may have to rely on selling people, such as Rashford for £40 million. If you can sell other players, you can also raise the remaining funds to buy Cunha."

United are willing to pay liquidated damages, while personal terms are not expected to be an issue as negotiations with the player go into further negotiations, with everything pointing to Cunha's signing to be completed early this summer.

However, despite Cunha's quality, United still have a big concern about him, and that is his attitude. Wolves boss Victor Pereira publicly criticised the player's body language in January, often complaining about his teammates, not being active enough to run during games, and often walking and playing, making him the 'walking king' of the Premier League this season.

Brown has revealed that United have looked into this aspect and are looking to find a solution to the potential destabilizing factors in the dressing room. 'Cunha is a very talented player but there are people who think he has a potential attitude problem and the club will look into it. But he's a good player and has proven himself at Wolves this season and United have been working on the deal for some time."
