Manchester United lost to Brentford on Sunday and their Premier League record continues to be in shambles this season. Ruben Amorim wants to sign a new midfielder and form a new midfield partnership with Ugarte to play well with his 343 system. Atlanta's Edson Silva is considered a big target.

GiveMeSport reports that if United reach the Europa League final and win the trophy, it will increase the chances of signing the 25-year-old Brazilian midfielder from Atalanta in the summer window. According to him, the Red Devils have identified Ederson as an important target for a midfield revamp in the summer window.
Although Atalanta value Ederson at £50 million, United are confident they can sign the midfielder, who the Brazilian believes is Casemiro's successor, for a fee below that price.
Sources say United have identified Ederson as a quick solution to the midfield problem, with Amorim looking to bring his team's European form back to the Premier League, while he believes the lack of physical ability is the reason the Reds are struggling in the Premier League.
Ederson can help the team in this regard, making Atalanta a regular contender for a Champions League place in Serie A and winning the Europa League last season. Italian coach Fabio Capello praised him in the newspaper Sport Milan: "The combination of movement, physicality, technique and intelligence is out of the world".
British media revealed that Amorim believes that Ederson and Ugarte can be an ideal partner in the middle of the 343 formation midfield, and Ederson can not only play with Ugarte, but also replace his role when Uruguay's iron waist is injured or suspended.

Ederson has five goals and two assists in 46 games for Atalanta this season. Atalanta currently sit third in the Serie A table, with 68 points from 35 games, six points behind second-placed Inter Milan and five ahead of fifth-placed Juventus, with a high chance of qualifying for next season's Champions League.
But there are two major hurdles for Manchester United to get Ederson, the first is Atalanta's asking price, which they may want between €55 million and €60 million, or even €75 million.
In addition, the Reds' local rivals Manchester City are also interested in Ederson, and Amorim must secure Champions League qualification if he is to attract a star to the team. Although he claims that he will not want Champions League qualification as a transfer condition, the reality is that high-level players want to join the Champions League team.
Sky Sports reports that Manchester United are in advanced talks with Paris Saint-Germain sporting adviser Luis Campos in a bid to improve the team's signings, with the Portuguese likely unable to renew his contract with Grand Paris and expected to leave at the end of the season.
Campos worked with Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid before moving to Monaco and made a name for himself there, operating transfers for Falcao, Moutinho, Cristiano Ronaldo, Fabinho, Anthony Martial, Coach B and others. Later, Campos also played an important role in Lille's Ligue 1 title. He has been linked with United on a number of occasions in the past and now that the club's sporting director position is vacant, INEOS has not found a suitable candidate after Dan Ashworth's sacking in December.

United are said to be keen to see Campos join the club before the summer transfer window to be part of Amorim's rebuilding of the squad this summer, which is a crucial transfer period for the Red Devils.
