Juventus have named Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund as one of their top targets in the summer transfer market, having scored twice this month, according to Torino Sport. Juve, meanwhile, have already put a price tag on the sale of centre-forward Dusan Vlahovic, taking the first step towards their goal of signing Hojlund this summer.
The 'Old Lady' allegedly wants to sell Vlahovic for £34 million, and although he has scored 14 goals in all competitions this season, Juve have no choice but to sell him due to disagreements between the two sides over a contract extension, which Vlahovic is not interested in signing a new contract with the club with a lower salary.
Once Vlahovic is purged, then Manchester United's Hojlund is on the minds of the Bianconeri, with them making him their preferred successor to the centre-forward, and negotiations have already begun. The 23-year-old joins from Atalanta for £73 million in 2023 but certainly won't be able to sell for too much right now. The Red Devils want £60 million, which is unrealistic, probably half the price.
Italian sources claim that Juve are willing to trade Douglas Luiz and Vlahovic as bargaining chips, while United are looking for a striker to bolster their attack, with Vlahovic also a rumoured target. However, Manchester United will not consider Hojlund's offer to trade Vlahovic.
That's because player swaps, in the Premier League's PSR profitability and sustainability rules, are unhelpful deals. Manchester United could sell Hojlund or also consider signing Vlahovic for £34 million, which is not outrageous, but it must be two separate deals.
The biggest obstacle for Vlahovic to join Manchester United or other giants is not the transfer fee, but his income level. Vlahovic's weekly salary at Juventus is said to be in excess of £320,000, similar to Manchester United's Marcus Rashford, and unless he agrees to a pay cut, it may not be an option for Manchester United, and Sir Jim Ratcliffe is looking to restructure his players' earnings.
The centre-forward he wants to sign is 22-year-old England player Liam Delap, and the Ipswich striker has a penalty of just £30 million. As a result, there are so many Premier League clubs vying for him, and interestingly, it has been rumored that the most likely choice for him is relegation team Everton!
After Ipswich's 2-2 draw with Everton at Goodison Park, Dropp Jr. signed autographs at a cottage across the pitch from a number of 'Toffee' legends and managers. David Moyes' side are said to be willing to bring in Delap at any cost, with Moyes publicly soliciting him, saying: "Liam [Delap] is definitely someone we're interested in, I know he has bigger clubs to consider joining, but if he's interested in us, we're definitely open arms."
With Manchester United's poor Premier League record and the rebuilding of the summer window, transfer rumours are running high. The Western media is not idle, "Defensa Central" reported that the Red Devils took away from Real Madrid last summer 19-year-old French central defender Lenny Yoro regretted choosing the old Trafford quagmire, and he allegedly entrusted the "super agent" Jorge Mendes to Florentino Perez to say that he "wants to join" Real Madrid.
It is said that Yoro has found that Real Madrid are in dire need of centre-backs this season and he could have played as a regular player. According to Western media, Manchester United are reluctant to sell Yoro, and if he applies for a transfer, the club will ask for a return of £60 million in transfer fee spending. But Real Madrid won't pay that price, and they don't think Yoro is worthy of that price in the Premier League this season. Real Madrid's top targets are Arsenal's Saliba or Bournemouth's Dean Huysen.
It's hard to say whether Yoro will join Real Madrid in the future, but he certainly won't leave this summer. Recently, the Frenchman revealed that part of the reason he chose to join Manchester United was to bring the trophy back to Old Trafford and revive the Red Devils. Interestingly, his Manchester United idol turned out to be winger Nani, as he played as a winger as a child. In United's 4-1 win over Athletic Bilbao in the Europa League, Joro set up Mason Mount's equaliser. So, if there is a need in the future, Amorim may consider replacing Hojlund with him!
Yoro said, "I came to Manchester United to achieve big things and win trophies. When you see players like Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic, Raphael Varane, you want to achieve the same as them, stay in the memories of the fans and be a great defender.'
