It is revealed that the new Kane is inclined to join Manchester United for 30 million! Or reject Chelsea, the summer transfer deadline has been set

Almost the entire Premier League is in the race for 22-year-old English centre-forward Liam Delap, nicknamed 'The New Kane', with Manchester United and Chelsea among the favourites, both lacking a pivot. According to British media reports, among the two giants of red and blue, Delap Jr.'s preferred club is the Red Devils.

Ipswich Town has already confirmed relegation to the Championship and Delap's £30million liquidated damages will be activated in June. He joined Ipswich Town for £20 million last summer, but under contract he could leave for £30 million once the team was relegated. Ipswich will not get £10 million in profit as they still need to give 20% to Delap's parent club Manchester City.

Delap's transfer fee has attracted a lot of interest from many teams, as all Premier League clubs can basically afford to pay the liquidated damages. Wages may be holding back some clubs, and Delap is hoping to increase his weekly salary from £20,000 to £120,000 to £150,000 after the transfer!

Manchester United and Chelsea are considered the favourites, with both teams hoping for a new no.9. Arsenal also need a centre-forward, however, Arteta's first choice is Sporting's Djekereish, who is said to have reached a personal agreement and the Gunners have made an offer of €75 million.

According to the British "talkSPORT radio", Delap himself prefers to choose Manchester United. The striker, who has scored 12 Premier League goals this season, has spent five years in Manchester and has scored one goal in six appearances for Manchester City, but that won't stop him from opting for a Red Devils shirt.

It is said that Delap wants to return to the north-west of England, which he is familiar with, and now it is up to Manchester United to officially start the transfer action. Sir Jim Ratcliffe could sell either Hojlund or one of Zilkze, as well as sell Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Antony in favour of Delap and Wolves' Cunha.

As for Chelsea, they are not giving up on the fray, with Blues boss Enzo Maresca, a former manager of Delap's youth team at Manchester City, confident of convincing his former disciples to change their minds. At Stamford Bridge, Cole Palmer and Romeo Lavia are both former Manchester City team-mates by Delap.

But Manchester United have a similar connection, with the club's technical director Jason Wilcox being Delap's youth director when he was at Manchester City. According to well-known transfer expert Ben Jacobs, Delap is currently inclined to join Manchester United, but there are still uncertainties, and if the Red Devils can win the Europa League, the chances are even greater.

Jacobs said: "If Manchester United win the Europa League [and go into next season's Champions League], they are very optimistic about signing Delap. Manchester United and Chelsea are currently the two leading clubs in the race for Delap, with Ipswich's £30 million liquidated damages clause in effect following his relegation. Delap awaits the final end of the season, with United currently in a strong position and Amorim's number one striker target. United have the financial resources to bring in Delap and Cunha early in the summer window, provided an agreement is reached with the two players. Chelsea have plenty of options for new strikers and Delap is a familiar option for Maresca. Delap hopes to be able to decide on the future before going to the Under-21 European Championships."

According to the schedule, the 2025 Under-21 European Championship will start in Slovakia on June 12. Delap's England Under-21s are in Group B with Germany, the Czech Republic and Slovenia, with their first game against the Czech Republic on 13 June. This means that the transfer of Delap Jr. will be finalized in early June.
