Sane is an old Premier League acquaintance, having played for Manchester United's arch-rivals Manchester City, but that doesn't stop him from considering a move to his old club's neighbours, as long as the money is in place. The 29-year-old French winger's contract with Bayern Munich expires on 30 June, at which point he can regain his free agency and move to any club on a free transfer, which is his biggest attraction.

Bayern had hoped that Sane would agree to a pay cut to renew his contract, but the latter was unwilling to accept it, and brought in "super agent" Pini Zahavi to handle the negotiations for him, and the situation changed, and Zahavi's request made the Bundesliga champions very unhappy and asked them to take a stand this weekend. This has strained relations between the two sides, with Leroy Sane likely to leave next month.

However, although it is a free transfer, it does not mean that it is cheap, because Sane asks for more than £240,000 a week! On top of that, a free transfer means he can get a higher signing fee as well as an agent commission. At a time when Sir Jim Ratcliffe is struggling to cut costs at Manchester United, this is certainly a condition that he cannot accept. With a weekly salary of £240,000, he can rank in the top six of United's active players, behind Casemiro (£350,000 a week), Marcus Rashford (325,000), Bruno Fernandes (300,000), Jadon Sancho and Mason Mount (250,000).

Sane has scored 13 goals and provided six assists for Bayern Munich in all competitions this season. He won two Premier League titles at Manchester City, one FA Cup and three League Cups before moving to Bayern Munich for £45 million. But in his right winger position, Manchester United already have 40 million euros of Mr. Amad Diallo, and it seems that there is no need to bring in an older and expensive player as a substitute.

At the moment, Manchester United's real transfer is a £67million deal for Wolves striker Cunha. Amorim is said to be confident of acquiring the Brazilian number 10 with 15 Premier League goals and six assists. While Arsenal and Newcastle United have reportedly also held talks with Cunha's agent, and Saudi Arabia's professional league has also expressed interest, United are very confident of acquiring him.
