Manchester United and Cunha have agreed to join next week! Meet with Delap in person to get a second sign

Manchester United have all agreed on a move for Mateus Cunha, with the 25-year-old Brazilian striker set to be the first signing in the summer rebuild. Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the Red Devils' personal agreement with Cunha has been reached; Sky Sports revealed when the deal was officially completed, just as the liquidated damages clause for the players came into effect at the end of the season.

That means United will sign Cunha next week, and the club know they will get Cunha for just £62.5 million. Sir Jim Ratcliffe wants to pay in instalments, but the club have yet to contact Wolves about the offer, which will happen after the Premier League officially ends on Sunday. According to Pakistani media, the Red Devils may have to give more money in exchange for the other party's agreement to pay in instalments.

Sky Sports reports that Cunha has confirmed that he will join Manchester United at the end of the season this weekend, and while other clubs have also expressed interest, Cunha wants to play for Manchester United and a deal is said to be almost done. For his part, Fabrizio Romano said: "Manchester United are now close to completing the transfer of Cunha, the Brazilian has accepted Amorim's plan, and the personal terms are being put to the finishing touches and there is almost no problem. All we have to do is finalize the details, and then we're ready to go."

Now, Cunha will be in the final round of the Premier League for Wolves, where he will have the chance to say goodbye to the fans at Molineux's home stadium and aim to break the record for the most league goals scored by a Brazilian in a single season, with him currently tied for first place with Liverpool centre-forward Roberto Firmino in 2017/18 and Arsenal winger Martinelli in 2022/23.

This season, Cunha has scored 17 goals and provided six assists in 34 games, 15 of which have come in the Premier League. He attracted interest from a number of Premier League clubs, but Cunha wanted to play for Amorim's Manchester United and eventually a personal deal was agreed. The Brazilian professed to have supported United since childhood, and his idol, somewhat unexpectedly, was the former golden boy Anderson.

This may have been due to Cunha's nine-year-old Champions League final in 2008, and Anderson, the only Brazilian player for the Red Devils at the time, played well that season, scoring in a penalty shoot-out in the final and single-handing out the likes of Steven Gerrard and Cesc Fabregas in the Premier League.

Statistically, Cunha is second only to Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes with 19 goals and 19 assists, and only three players in the Red Devils have scored in double figures, namely Garnacho, Hojlund and Amad Diallo, but if you only count the number of Premier League goals, it is only B Fee.

In both legs of Wolves' matches against Manchester United this season, Amorim took the initiative to hug and talk to Cunha, both of whom spoke Portuguese and communicated without barriers. Having confirmed the signing of Cunha, United will now turn to an authentic centre-forward, with The Athletic confirming that the club's hierarchy had held face-to-face talks with 22-year-old England centre-forward Liam Delap.

Delap's £30million liquidated damages clause has come into effect after Ipswich Town confirmed relegation, and he has scored 12 goals in the Premier League this season and has become United's new centre-forward of choice. According to The Athletic, Ipswich allowed Delap to travel to Manchester to meet with the Red Devils, having only come off the bench in the last round of the Premier League, and manager Keerong McKenna has already begun planning his new style of play after his departure.

In a direct meeting, United spoke to Drap about Amorim's plans for a revival, with the son of legend Raleigh Trapp appearing to be leaning towards landing at Old Trafford, even if the Reds are still likely to miss out on next season's European competition.

Rajue has yet to make a formal offer for Delap and the squad is now focused on Wednesday's Europa League final. However, whether to win the championship and enter the Champions League will not affect the introduction of Cunha and Delap, and if they are signed at the same time, Manchester United will spend at least 92.5 million pounds in transfer fees.

Manchester United need to significantly improve their forward creativity, especially their scoring ability, and the club is only 16th in the Premier League due to their lack of strikers. In addition to Delap, the likes of Sporting de Portugal's Djekereish and Brentford's Mbeumo are also still candidates, but they will need to depend on Champions League qualification and transfer budgets.
