Oman advanced to the fourth round of Asia's World Cup qualifiers after finishing fourth in Group B in the previous round, concluding with a 1-1 draw against Palestine to secure their place in the next stage.
"Queiroz possesses a wealth of coaching experience, having managed the national teams of Portugal, Iran, Colombia, Egypt, and Qatar. He also worked as an assistant coach at Manchester United under Sir Alex Ferguson," the Oman FA stated on the social media platform X.
"The Federation expresses its gratitude and appreciation to the previous coaching staff, led by national coach Rashid Jaber, for their contributions during the past period, wishing them success in their future endeavors," the federation added.
Oman will be joined by Iraq, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, and the United Arab Emirates in the draw for the fourth round, which is scheduled for July 17th.
