Liverpool's transfer spending has no limits, as they have reached an agreement with Ékitike for a fee of €90 million, while his market value is €75 million.

Therefore, Liverpool has to settle for a high-priced acquisition of Frankfurt's forward, Ékitike.

After negotiations, another major signing for Liverpool is imminent. According to the latest news from Italian transfer expert Romano, Liverpool is about to finalize the transfer of Ékitike from Frankfurt. Liverpool has submitted a new offer totaling €90 million, including bonuses. This is a plan jointly crafted by Liverpool and Frankfurt, as both sides have reached an agreement, and Frankfurt will soon accept this offer to complete the deal. Liverpool and Frankfurt need to finalize the structure of additional terms in the next 1-2 days, followed by medical examinations and contract signing.

According to previous reports from Romano, Liverpool has already reached a six-year contract with Ékitike, and the personal agreement has been completed.

Ékitike came through the ranks at Reims and transferred to Paris in 2023 for a fee of €28.5 million but did not establish himself as a starter, with his development falling short of expectations. He was first loaned to Frankfurt and then officially joined Frankfurt in the summer of 2024 for a lower transfer fee of €16.5 million, scoring 26 goals and providing 14 assists in 64 appearances during his time at Frankfurt.

The 23-year-old Ékitike stands at 1.90 meters tall and is a right-footed player primarily playing as a striker. He is characterized as a tall, technical forward, although he appears somewhat slender in physical confrontations. His contract with Frankfurt runs until 2029, and he is valued at €75 million by Transfermarkt. Last season, Ékitike made 48 appearances for Frankfurt across all competitions, starting 43 times, contributing 22 goals and 12 assists.

It can only be said that Liverpool has struck gold at Anfield; Ékitike has only played one good season, and that was as a forward for Frankfurt. Liverpool's €90 million signing is indeed a gamble.
