Han Peng's debut ended in defeat, and the rebuilding work for Tai Shan is a long and arduous journey.

Reporter Chen Yong reported. Malai Lai did not score, but he remarkably assisted two teammates in scoring. Following the 2-0 victory, over 60,000 Dalian fans were enjoying the moment, and the match's attendance of 61,588 set a new record for Dalian Suoyu Bay. However, for Shandong Tai Shan, including Han Peng's first match as acting head coach, it was a bitter pill to swallow: facing the collapsed tactical system of Tai Shan, the rebuilding process is exceedingly difficult, with issues of individual play and players waiting idly for the ball still prevalent. The only silver lining was 20-year-old Peng Xiao, who started and played 78 minutes, showing relatively stable overall performance.

This match marked Han Peng's first game as acting head coach. He took the young Peng Xiao to the away game and even made him a starter. To provide more space for young players, Han Peng adopted a 3-4-3 formation in this match, with Peng Xiao playing as a right center-back alongside Zheng Zheng and Kazal, forming a three-man defense. The wing-backs were Liu Yang and Wang Tong, while the defensive midfielders were Li Yuan Yi and Ma De Lu Jia, with the attacking trio comprising Zeka, Kazai Shvili, and Kresan. After the match, Han Peng stated: "The shift to a three-man defense was based on the characteristics of our young players and wing players. Peng Xiao performed well in his debut, facing over 60,000 cheering fans."

In the first half of the match, Kazai Shvili struck the post first, followed by Liu Zhu Run's shot, which found the net due to Wang Da Lei's vision being blocked by Malai Lai. However, the most frustrating aspect of the first half was that although Tai Shan managed to regain possession through high pressing, the overall attacking system was characterized by individual efforts. More importantly, the players struggled to connect, with significant issues in movement, hesitant passing after prolonged ball observation, and a tendency to stand and wait for the ball, reminiscent of previous matches.

In the second half, Han Peng first replaced the two wing-backs, bringing on Gao Zhun Yi and Xie Wen Neng. Gao Zhun Yi had previously played as a wing-back for Evergrande, and Xie Wen Neng had also played as a wing-back for the national team. The introduction of fresh talent and adjustments in midfield improved Tai Shan's attack, with noticeable increases in possession, shot attempts, and corner kicks. However, the overall offensive play still lacked substantial threat, and the front-line players showed significant issues with both their form and morale. Additionally, Tai Shan's set pieces, including free kicks and corners, failed to pose any threat, while Dalian Ying Bo capitalized on a direct free kick opportunity to score, with Malai Lai making a "dummy header."

For the current Tai Shan team, the challenge of rebuilding the system that has collapsed for over a year is immense in the short term. Beyond the difficulties of reconstructing the tactical system, the players' mentality and confidence are also significant concerns. For Han Peng, undertaking a major overhaul is highly challenging unless the club firmly pushes for a significant transformation. Generally, such an approach can lead to new uncertainties. A more stable strategy would be to gradually enhance the team's tactical content, including increasing players' off-the-ball movement, while further emphasizing tactical discipline in matches to help the team slowly regain its vitality.

After the match, Han Peng said: "We created many opportunities in this game, but luck was not on our side, and many issues arose. We will address these problems when we return. For me, as a young coach, this first match is also a learning experience, and I need to summarize and improve. There may still be some shortcomings in handling details, and I need to reflect carefully and solve these issues in training, which will take some time."
