The 58-year-old, residing in Poole on England's southern coast, was admitted to intensive care on Friday after being discovered semi-conscious by a friend.
However, his management agency has confirmed that he has now been released.
“Paul voluntarily went to A&E (Accident and Emergency) on Friday due to a throat issue (not by ambulance) that he has been dealing with for some time,” stated a release from the MNT Agency. “He is already back home and doing well.”
Gascoigne, who earned 57 caps for his national team, was found by Steve Foster, who serves as his driver and personal assistant.
He received treatment from intensive care staff and was later transferred to an acute medical unit, where his condition was reported as stable, and he has since been discharged.
One of the most naturally talented footballers of his era, Gascoigne played for Newcastle, Tottenham, Lazio, Rangers, Middlesbrough and Everton.
He rose to global fame due to his standout performances at the 1990 World Cup in Italy, where England reached the semi-finals, and he also made a significant impact at Euro 96.
The midfielder's struggles with alcohol addiction and depression are well-documented, and he has faced a series of health challenges in recent years.
In 2020, Gascoigne mentioned that he had turned his life around after having anti-alcohol pellets implanted in his stomach.
However, last year, he admitted on the High Performance podcast that he was a "sad drunk" living in a spare room at his agent's home.
