Barcelona has been engaged in discussions regarding a contract extension with Jules Kounde for several weeks, with everyone involved feeling hopeful despite the interest from Manchester City.
As reported by journalist Fabrice Hawkins, negotiations between Barcelona and the 26-year-old have been ongoing for “several weeks,” and all parties are optimistic that an agreement will be reached.
Barcelona is understood to regard Kounde as the top player in his position globally and aims to offer him a new contract that aligns with that assessment.
Manchester City is interested, however, with Pep Guardiola eager to bring in the French international as a replacement for the recently departed Kyle Walker.
The report also mentions that another unnamed ‘top club’ has expressed interest in the defender, who made 53 appearances last season.
