Luis Diaz has notified Liverpool of his intention to depart; Manchester United is monitoring Morten Hjulmand; Inter and Atletico remain the leading contenders for Ademola Lookman, while Arsenal is also in the mix. These are some of the key narratives from the past few days in the transfer market, provided by Tribal Football's transfer specialist Rudy Galetti.

Diaz notifies Liverpool of his desire to leave, but Bayern are far from an agreement

Luis Diaz has notified Liverpool that he wishes to leave this summer. The Colombian winger is seeking a new challenge, and Liverpool is open to a sale. This is why, starting from a base of around £65m fixed, LFC is willing to discuss his potential departure. Bayern Munich have already initiated moves, presenting a proposal close to £57-58m.

The German club is now contemplating increasing their offer, particularly by utilizing performance-related bonuses to align closer with Liverpool's valuation. However, there is still no agreement between Bayern and Diaz at this point.

While the Bavarians have been granted permission to commence discussions with the player's camp, a contract deal still needs to be finalized, and talks are ongoing. Overall, there is still much work to be done for Bayern on both the club and player fronts before any transfer can materialize.

There is also interest from Saudi Arabia in Diaz, but for the moment, Luis is not considering that option and prefers to remain in top-level European football. Should Diaz leave, Liverpool will shift their focus to Rodrygo as a potential high-profile replacement.

Man Utd monitoring Hjulmand amid Juventus discussions

Manchester United continues to show interest in Morten Hjulmand, with manager Ruben Amorim eager to reunite with the midfielder he previously coached at Sporting CP .

While Juventus are in advanced negotiations with Hjulmand regarding personal terms, the fee discrepancy between the Italian club and Sporting could create an opportunity for United. Juventus is willing to acquire the player for approximately €35m, significantly below Sporting’s current demand of €50-60m.

The Bianconeri also hope that the ongoing negotiation for Alberto Costa with Sporting can help reduce the cash payment. However, Sporting remains firm, also recalling that there is an €80m release clause in his contract and that considering lower offers is already regarded as a significant flexibility. Overall, Hjulmand would prefer a transfer to Juventus, where he sees an ideal advancement in his career.

Still, if Juventus cannot finalize the deal soon—and it certainly won’t be a swift negotiation—United could intervene and make a serious effort, especially with Amorim’s support. Concurrently, Sporting plans to offer Hjulmand a new contract with enhanced wages in an attempt to persuade him to stay.

Inter and Atleti remain frontrunners for Lookman, but Arsenal is in the race

The future of Ademola Lookman is still undecided. In addition to Inter and Atletico Madrid —the two clubs that have displayed the most interest so far—a Premier League team, Arsenalhas inquired about the Atalanta player.

The Gunners—who had already monitored the Nigerian international last summer but found Atalanta successful in retaining him in Serie A—have rekindled their interest in Lookman, seeking fresh information in recent days. However, there have been no further developments thus far.

Lookman, for his part, would be receptive to a return to the Premier League, even though, in general, his primary goal is to depart Atalanta. Conversely, despite reports,Napoli are not in the running—the Italian champions had sought information at the end of June but have since shifted focus to other targets.

Thus, as of now, Inter and Atletico Madrid remain the clubs most interested: Inter has already submitted a €40m offer, which was declined, while Atletico Madrid has yet to make a bid, despite their intention to do so once they resolve some departures. Atalanta maintains a clear stance: €50m is the non-negotiable asking price.

Galatasaray initiates talks for Ederson with City after personal terms agreed

The future of Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson is becoming clearer, as Galatasaray has officially commenced discussions to sign the Brazilian.

The Turkish club has made their initial approach to City, optimistic about their chances after agreeing personal terms with the player—around €6m per season. Ederson has expressed his full willingness to join Galatasaray, even reducing his salary to facilitate the transfer.

The goalkeeper was positively impressed by Galatasaray’s sporting project and is now eager to make the switch this summer. The Turkish club has already submitted an opening offer to Manchester City—a fee of around €10/15m could suffice to reach a complete agreement, as Ederson has only one year remaining on his current contract.

However, Gala hopes to negotiate a significantly lower transfer fee, leveraging the player's desire to leave and the contract situation. This is a very active pursuit in the market right now, with both the Turkish club and the player optimistic about finalizing the deal soon. Ederson, after many successful years in England, seems ready for a new challenge, and Istanbul could be his next destination.

Everton prepared to increase bid for Douglas Luiz, remaining in a strong position

Everton is getting ready to enhance their offer for Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz, moving from their initial €30m proposal to a new package worth around €35m, including bonuses. The Premier League club is striving to secure the Brazilian as a key component of their midfield reconstruction.

Juventus, however, would prefer the €35m to be fixed, rather than bonus-based, plus add-ons. The Bianconeri are confident of securing a higher amount, capitalizing on the increasing interest from other clubs, includingWest Ham, who have recently reached out to inquire about Luiz’s situation. Despite this, Luiz has prioritized Everton, as he believes their sporting project aligns more closely with his ambitions.

This gives the Toffees a distinct advantage in the race, although the deal still requires some steps before an agreement is established. Everton remains in a strong position, with positive discussions underway. Juventus is open to a paid loan with an obligation to buy, and negotiations are currently focused on reaching the appropriate amount and structure for both parties.

Luiz, eager to return to the Premier League, may soon find his new home, and Everton is currently leading the race.
