Goals from Rasheedat Ajibade and Michelle Alozie were sufficient to help the Super Falcons overcome the defending African champions at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca.

However, it was Justine Madugu’s team that broke the stalemate just before half-time. After Bambanani Mbane was penalized for a handball in the area, referee Shamirah Nabadda awarded a penalty to the nine-time African champions.
Captain Rasheedat Ajibade confidently stepped up and converted the penalty.
Before the goal, Nigeria dominated possession but was consistently thwarted by the outstanding South African goalkeeper, Andile Dlamini.
Banyana Banyana equalized in the 60th minute after Hildah Magaia was fouled by Osinachi Ohale.
Linda Motlhalo took the penalty and successfully converted it, putting pressure back on the nine-time African champions.
Nevertheless, it was the Super Falcons who had the last word, thanks to Alozie’s spectacular goal in the final moments. The Houston Dash player unleashed a powerful long-range shot that flew past the helpless Dlamini.
With this victory, Nigeria will face either Ghana or Morocco in the final set for July 26th in Rabat, as they seek to claim a record-extending 10th African title.
