Manchester United continues to "scratch the lottery"! Reports suggest they want to sign a successor to Maguire and are competing for 15 million for Ligue 1's new Mbemo.

After spending £133.5 million on signing Cunha and Mbemo, Manchester United's first-team recruitment has somewhat slowed down, as Sir Jim Ratcliffe needs to sell players before he can continue to invest in Amorin. However, the 72-year-old Ratcliffe hasn't stopped "scratching the lottery," and the Red Devils are closely linked to the transfers of two young talents.

Firstly, Manchester United scouts have been watching Eivind Helland from Norway's Brann club, observing the team's 3-1 victory over Viking Stavanger in the Eliteserien. This 20-year-old center-back is seen as a natural successor to Maguire, and Norwegian football is optimistic about him becoming the best center-back in the country's history. The club has also had outstanding Norwegian center-backs in the past, such as Ronny Johnsen and Henning Berg, who were part of the 1999 treble-winning team.

Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich also sent representatives to watch Helland's match, but the player, who has been referred to as the "Rodri of center-backs" by Brann's coach Freyr Alexander, was sent off with a red card during the 0-2 defeat to Oslo after receiving a second yellow card for a late challenge. Besides playing as a center-back, Helland can also fill in as a defensive midfielder and full-back, showcasing his versatility.

Although Swedish center-back Lindelöf is set to leave on a free transfer at the end of his contract, Manchester United does not plan to bring in a first-team center-back this summer. However, considering that Maguire is already 32 years old and has only one year left on his contract, it is necessary to prepare for the future.

Norwegian U21 international Helland's height of 196 cm, excellent heading ability, and passing skills make him quite suitable for the role. However, Helland has several potential buyers, and the Red Devils face competition, with Norwegian striker Erling Haaland's former clubs Borussia Dortmund and RB Salzburg also interested in this young center-back.

Another target for Manchester United's youth is the talented forward Idrissa Gueye from Ligue 1's Metz. This 18-year-old Senegalese player shares a name with Everton's 35-year-old veteran Gueye, but they are not the same person; Gueye is a common surname in Senegal, and there are many players with that name in European leagues.

In January of this year, young Idrissa Gueye transferred from Senegal to Ligue 1 and quickly scored in a match that resulted in a 3-1 victory over Paris Saint-Germain. However, he rushed to the emergency room afterward due to dental issues sustained during a collision with a defender, making for a rather legendary experience. Gueye is also part of the Senegal national team, which handed Tuchel his first defeat after taking charge of England.

Manchester United faces competition from teams like Borussia Dortmund, Burnley, and Brentford, all of which can offer starting positions. Particularly, the "Bee Army" has lost new signing Mbemo to Manchester United and may also sell striker Visa. New coach Keith Andrews believes he can develop another superstar forward.

Meanwhile, United's youth goalkeeper Radek Vitek may be loaned out again, with Austria's Sturm Graz considered a strong candidate. Sturm Graz won the Austrian league title last season and is looking for a new goalkeeper after their first-choice keeper Daniel Hladik got injured. British media also reported that he was seen at the site of Plymouth's 0-2 loss to Bristol City on Saturday, indicating he might be loaned to the Championship.

If this goes through, it would be Vitek's third loan. The 21-year-old has previously played for Accrington Stanley and Austria's Blau-Weiß Linz. He did not participate in Manchester United's summer friendlies and overseas training because the club has decided he will leave.
