Bruno Fernandes criticized Manchester United for being too lazy, suggesting they should sign two more players, a sentiment echoed by Amorim! The executives claim they are working tirelessly to acquire new talent.

After Manchester United's 2-2 draw with Everton in Atlanta, captain Bruno Fernandes, who lifted the trophy post-match, criticized the team's performance as "a little lazy" and believes they need to bring in one or two new signings to remain competitive.

Fernandes scored a penalty and assisted another goal during the match, but he criticized the team's sluggishness when not in possession, calling on the club to keep pursuing transfers. Both of Manchester United's conceded goals resulted from their own mistakes, for which Fernandes also bears some responsibility.

The Red Devils' captain told Sky Sports: "It's beneficial for players to build connections together; it’s crucial for our style of play and the integration of new signings. However, we don't want to end the game this way; the team's performance was not at its best. Moreover, we played a bit lazily when out of possession today. We must avoid this, as laziness can lead to losses at any moment. My mistake led to the score becoming 2-2."

Regarding the need for Manchester United to continue signing players, Fernandes explained: "Clearly, we need to make the players on the pitch more competitive, enhance the quality of the squad, and elevate everyone's performance. I believe this is what the club is striving to achieve."

Recently, there were rumors linking Fernandes to Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, where Cristiano Ronaldo plays, but the 30-year-old Portuguese midfielder is determined to stay. Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that there are currently no negotiations taking place.

Romano stated: "Based on the information I have, nothing has happened between Al-Nassr and Fernandes—zero contact, no offers to Manchester United, no offers to Fernandes, no negotiations, no discussions. Although there were rumors of Al-Nassr's board meeting with Fernandes' agent, I am not aware of that. The situation around Bruno is quite calm."

When asked if he supports the captain's comments, Manchester United manager Amorim insisted that he does not oppose players pointing out each other's shortcomings, hoping to continue improving the locker room culture. Amorim also criticized the team's situation when conceding goals, noting that most of the Manchester United players were walking slowly rather than making quick runs when Ugarte lost possession.

"I’m pleased the players feel this way," Amorim said, "It shows they understand the current situation. So, this feeling is good; I think the momentum from this tour is perfect. We have several weeks to work in a positive environment and feeling before returning to Carrington, as the new season is fast approaching. We know the team needs to improve in many areas."

Manchester United CEO Omar Berrada also stated before the match against Everton that the transfer department is working "around the clock" to bring in more players for the team.

"We have to handle many things simultaneously," Berrada told MUTV, "We have a recruitment team led by Jason Wilcox domestically, working tirelessly to ensure we can continue seeking opportunities to strengthen our squad. We often make late-night calls and hold morning meetings to stay updated."

Manchester United is set to return to England, with their final summer friendly taking place at Old Trafford against Fiorentina, where legendary goalkeeper De Gea played. One week after that match, the new Premier League season will officially kick off.
