On the afternoon of August 18, the Thailand women's team continued with their final training session before facing hosts Vietnam in the third-place match of the 2025 Southeast Asian Women's Football Championship. While the initial weather was favorable, heavy rain in Hai Phong later significantly impacted the Thai team's practice.

Despite the potential health risks for players, the Thai women's team maintained their training for about 90 minutes. Vietnam's opponents worked on both offensive and defensive tactics, including set-piece scenarios.

Thailand lost 0-1 to Vietnam in the last group stage match and are still considered underdogs for the third-place game. However, with less pressure regarding results, Thailand is expected to play with determination in hopes of ending the tournament on a high note.
