WTA Cleveland: Wang Xinyu falls to Ann Li, missing out on the final

During the WTA250 Cleveland women's singles semifinals, Wang Xinyu managed to fend off five match points in the second set but was defeated 3-6, 7-5, 4-6 by American Ann Li, missing the chance to advance to the final. Ann Li will compete against Romania’s Costică for the title. Wang Xinyu is set to participate in the US Open main draw, facing American Dolehide in the opening round of singles.

In yesterday’s ATP250 Winston-Salem quarterfinals, Bubnyachokte’s match against VandeSandschulp was suspended due to rain at 3-6, 3-4. In today’s resumption, although Bubnyachokte fought hard to take the second set and push the match into a deciding set, he ultimately lost 3-6, 7-5, 3-6 and missed out on the semifinals. VandeSandschulp went on to defeat ninth seed Pericard 6-4, 7-5 in the semifinals and will face Vrsovic in the final. Bubnyachokte will next participate in the US Open main draw, where his first-round opponent will be wildcard Ruwaye, as he continues his pursuit of his first Grand Slam main draw win.
