Chinese tennis player Zheng Qinwen’s outstanding performance and gold medal victory at the Paris Olympics have fueled a growing tennis enthusiasm across China, including Zhanjiang, a coastal city at the southernmost tip of mainland China. The tennis wave is thriving here. Li Chang, president of the Zhanjiang Tennis Association, stated: “The successful hosting of this event marks a new stage in youth tennis development in Zhanjiang. We hope the Bubble Cup not only establishes itself locally, promoting youth tennis growth, but also expands nationwide to discover and nurture more future stars for Chinese tennis.” The integration of the Bubble Cup with the national ranking system has not only promoted tennis among Zhanjiang’s youth but also added a brilliant chapter to this coastal city’s signature sports events.
