The 23rd seed Naomi Osaka defeated 11th seed Mchughova 6-4, 7-6(3) to return to the US Open women’s semifinals after five years. In her previous four Grand Slam semifinal appearances, she won each and eventually claimed the title. Osaka will face Anisimova in the semifinals to compete for the lower half final spot. Anisimova leads their head-to-head 2-0, having beaten Osaka back-to-back at the 2022 Australian Open and French Open. Both women’s singles semifinals will take place tomorrow morning Beijing time at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Top seed Sinner won the Italian derby against 10th seed Musetti in straight sets 6-1, 6-4, 6-2, extending his hard-court Grand Slam singles winning streak to 26 matches.
