The home-favored 8th seed Anisimova overcame 2nd seed Swiatek 6-4, 6-3, avenging her defeat in this year’s Wimbledon final and advancing to her first US Open women's singles semifinal. This season, Anisimova has an impressive 6-2 record against Top 10 players. She has reached the semifinals of Grand Slams on all three surfaces in her career, becoming the first American woman since the Williams sisters to achieve this feat. After the match, Anisimova said, “Coming back from Wimbledon means a lot to me. I’ve worked very hard for it, and I’m proud of myself.”

The 23rd seed Naomi Osaka defeated 11th seed Mchughova 6-4, 7-6(3) to return to the US Open women’s semifinals after five years. In her previous four Grand Slam semifinal appearances, she won each and eventually claimed the title. Osaka will face Anisimova in the semifinals to compete for the lower half final spot. Anisimova leads their head-to-head 2-0, having beaten Osaka back-to-back at the 2022 Australian Open and French Open. Both women’s singles semifinals will take place tomorrow morning Beijing time at Arthur Ashe Stadium.
