On October 19, 2025, the ATP250 Stockholm event came to an end. Second seed Ruud defeated fourth seed Auger-Aliassime 6-2, 6-3 in the final in only 66 minutes, earning his second title this season following the Madrid Masters.
Ruud
Auger-Aliassime held a 3-2 advantage in their previous encounters, but Ruud won their most recent match. In this final, Ruud maintained his excellent form throughout the tournament, not allowing his opponent any chance on his serve. After securing two breaks in the first set comfortably, he preserved a break advantage in the second set and sealed the championship in straight sets.
Ruud made a significant breakthrough this year by winning the Madrid Masters but missed the grass-court season due to injury. Returning to the court during the North American hard-court swing, apart from reaching the US Open mixed doubles final with Swiatek, his singles results were modest. By winning his first indoor title at home in Northern Europe, Ruud's live ranking has risen to No.11, and he looks poised to overcome recent setbacks and return to the Top 10 soon.
