Denmark was unseeded, which meant they could be drawn against the strongest tennis nations in the world.

For this reason, the Danish Davis Cup captain, Frederik Lochte Nielsenbelieves that the draw "could have been worse."

"It is a tie where I think our players can hold their own, and we have a chance,"he states in a press release from the Danish Tennis Association.

"I think there are some opportunities for us. Being unseeded means every match is challenging, naturally. But it could have been tougher," says Frederik Løchte Nielsen.

Croatia's top-ranked player is Marin Cilic, who holds the 75th position globally. Borna Coric is ranked 115th in the world.

Denmark last faced Croatia in 1993, winning 3-2.

The tie against Croatia will take place between February 6 and 9 next year in Croatia.

The Davis Cup tie is decided over the best of five matches. Two singles matches are played on the first day, followed by a doubles match and then two singles matches on the second day.

If Denmark progresses to the second qualifying round, either Germany or Peru will be their next opponent.
