Three minutes daily to catch up on global tennis news. Hello tennis fans, today is Tuesday, February 10, 2026. Welcome to the midday news update brought to you by "Tennis Home."

Last night Beijing time, the ATP500 Rotterdam event began its singles first round. Russian star Medvedev, playing his debut match, was off form and lost in three sets 7-6(4), 3-6, 6-3 to French left-hander Humbert, exiting in the opening round.

During the match, Medvedev expressed strong dissatisfaction with the balls used, complaining to the tournament supervisor that the Head balls were completely unusable and that the organizers should not have chosen such balls. He then vented his frustration to the chair umpire, saying these balls were meant for players who like to spit to impress others. Some fans believed Medvedev was using foul language and criticized him for losing both the match and his sportsmanship.

Vander Schaap, O'Connell, Norrie, Munar, and others each won their respective matches to advance to the second round.

ATP500 Dallas, USA: Local player Brandon Nakashima and Spain’s Fucsovics both secured victories in their singles first round matches, earning a strong start.

On the women's side, last night Beijing time, the WTA1000 Doha tournament completed its second day of competition. In the singles first round, China's top player Zheng Qinwen and second-ranked Wang Xinyu, both returning from injury, defeated American star Kenin and Colombian Arango respectively, advancing together to the second round.

However, the two Chinese women’s doubles pairs who played their first round matches that day both lost and were eliminated in the opening round. Xu Yifan/Yang Zhaoxuan were overturned 6-4, 2-6, 6-10 by Hunter/Johnt; Wang Xinyu/Zheng Saisai were defeated 5-7, 6-7(2) by Fernandez/Muradnovic.

In two singles second round matches concluded early this morning Beijing time, 5th seed Mira Andreeva defeated Poland’s Linette 7-6(0), 6-1 to secure a spot in the round of 16. Next, she will await the winner between Mboko and Zvonareva. Defending champion, American Anisimova, suffered an injury against her nemesis, Czech Ka.Pliskova, and retired at 7-5, 6-7(3), 1-4 down, ending her title defense prematurely.

After the match, Korpatsch said, “I didn’t want to win this way, but I think the first two sets were quite exciting. The match was long and your body starts to feel tired, and I felt the same. I’m lucky to move on and hope she is okay.” With this win, Korpatsch improved her head-to-head record against Aniva to 6-1.

Other first round winners advancing to the next round included Osorio, Zeng Limi, Noskova, Sakkari, Valentova, Navarro, Kalinskaya, Yastremska, Ostapenko, and Siniakova.

Tonight at 11 PM Beijing time, China’s top player Zheng Qinwen will play her singles second round match against American young star Parks. Almost simultaneously, second-ranked Wang Xinyu will challenge the new Australian Open champion, Leylah Fernandez. Two doubles pairs, Jiang Xinyu/Ekery and Zhang Shuai/Mertens, will also play their first round matches. Wishing the Chinese women good luck!
