On August 28, the International Tennis Hall of Fame on Newport Island, USA, will host Federer’s induction ceremony, and Federer will also play a singles match there that day.
Because of Federer’s overwhelming popularity, tickets for this Hall of Fame match sold out just 2 minutes after going on sale. To meet fans’ demands as much as possible, the Hall of Fame had to revise the event plan and quickly offer additional waitlist tickets.

On August 28, 2026, the International Tennis Hall of Fame will hold the induction ceremony for Federer (the legendary player) and Carrillo (a renowned tennis media personality).
“The International Tennis Hall of Fame saw unprecedented demand during the 2026 induction celebration, with tickets selling out in just two minutes. Anticipating such high enthusiasm, we have organized an official outdoor party to provide thousands of extra participation opportunities for fans.
“As a relatively small but historically rich venue, our capacity is limited. We encourage fans to join the waitlist on our website (https://3iaqx.share.hsforms.com/2QS8Quh4NRlSzDvasGhaHCQ) and subscribe for the latest updates. We look forward to celebrating Roger Federer and Mary Carrillo’s induction this August,” the International Tennis Hall of Fame stated on its official website.
According to the International Tennis Hall of Fame website, the singles event Federer will compete in will take place on the Hall’s grass courts, with ticket prices starting at only $90. Because the venue is very small, seating is extremely limited.

Seating chart for the Hall of Fame Champions Classic featuring Federer
When introducing the upcoming match featuring Federer, the International Tennis Hall of Fame wrote:
“192 grass-court wins, 8 Wimbledon titles, a 65-match grass winning streak. Few sights in sports are as timeless as tennis on grass, and few moments are as meaningful as seeing Roger Federer step onto the grass again, and you can witness it in person...
“Watch Roger Federer compete on the court he dominated throughout his career at the Fidelity Investments-sponsored Hall of Fame Champions Classic. Legends and celebrities will return to the historic grass courts of Newport for a day of world-class tennis, and you definitely want to be there!
“Your ticket grants you a seat at the Fidelity Investments-sponsored Hall of Fame Champions Classic, access to Hall of Fame events, a visit to the International Tennis Hall of Fame Museum, and much more!
“This is more than just an event — it’s a moment in tennis history you will remember forever.”

The Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place at the Horseshoe Lawn
According to the event schedule released by the International Tennis Hall of Fame, the organization will hold a six-day series of events from August 24 to 29, including tennis training games, a food festival and music parties, the Hall of Fame Champions Classic (with Federer participating), and the induction ceremony.
It is reported that this Champions Classic is the central event for Federer’s official induction into the International Tennis Hall of Fame. As a legendary figure in tennis history, Federer possesses unparalleled on-court charisma. With this charisma combined with the Hall of Fame honor, this event has become one of the most anticipated tennis events of the year. Some commentators say the event’s popularity exceeded expectations, reflecting Federer’s extraordinary global influence and fans’ eager anticipation for classic tennis moments.
It is worth mentioning that this year’s US Open will open on August 31. If you plan to attend the US Open in person, consider visiting the International Tennis Hall of Fame on Newport Island about a week earlier. The two locations are roughly 300 kilometers apart, making travel by car or train very convenient.
Even if fans cannot get tickets to Federer’s match at the International Tennis Hall of Fame, they can still participate for free in tennis training games, the food festival, and concerts hosted by the Hall of Fame. At the same time, they can take the opportunity to visit the museum to see precious tennis memorabilia such as the clothes worn by famous players during championship wins, their rackets, trophies, and more.(Source: Tennis Home, Author: Yun Juan Yun Shu)
