The Doha tournament draw has been announced, with the twin stars joining forces to compete!

This week’s three ATP events have finalized their final match lineups. At Rotterdam, the battle will be between former champion Aliassime and the past two-year runner-up Deminor, marking a direct clash between two top ten players in the world.

In Dallas, the top two American players face off, with Fritz and Shelton aiming for another 500-level title in their careers; meanwhile, the South American clay court event features the top seed Cerundolo against second seed Darderi.

Next week will see three tournaments running simultaneously, among which the newly upgraded 500-level Doha event, attracting the twin stars, stands out as the most watched. Let’s take a look at the tournament draw.

The new Australian Open champion Alcaraz will compete as the top seed. As the defending champion, he did not participate in this week’s Rotterdam event. Fatigue after winning the Australian Open led him to skip defending his title; his first-round opponent will be last year’s Shanghai Masters runner-up Lindgren.

Also in the same quarter is the seventh seed Khachanov, whose first-round opponent will be the Spaniard Munar. This section is relatively weak overall, with the only other notable player being former Wimbledon quarterfinalist Vukovic.

The second quarter is led by two Russian players, with fifth seed and defending champion Rublev facing Dutchman De Jong. Fourth seed Medvedev is positioned opposite our player Shang Juncheng, likely setting up a long-awaited “Messi duel” in the second round. Another highlight in this section’s first round is Mauresmo facing former French number one Monfils.

The third quarter features third seed Bublik at the forefront, with eighth seed Lehecka set for a key match against last season’s best newcomer Brooksby. Big hitter Pericard will meet Borges, and former French number one Fils is also in this section.

The final quarter is led by Sinner, whose first-round opponent Mahach will do everything possible to trouble the Italian. Two Masters-level players — sixth seed Menchik and Poplin — are also gathered here, along with our player Zhang Zhizhen, who is also striving to advance.

The Doha event, upgraded to a 250-level tournament just last year, has consistently attracted many top players due to generous prize money and its scheduling back-to-back with the Dubai tournament. Last year, Rublev’s victory seemed to hint at his potential as a 500-level contender. Historically, players like Agut, Khachanov, and Basilashvili have also won this event, with its unique trophy being a tournament highlight. With both twin stars competing this year, will the title slip away to someone else?(Source: Tennis Home, Author: Luo Cheng Qiye)
