Alcaraz splurges on a luxury yacht, surpassing Nadal's $6 million most expensive vessel in size.

Alcaraz intends to surpass Nadal in one thing—he plans to purchase a larger and more costly luxury yacht, well beyond the one owned by his senior counterpart.

In his relatively brief career, Alcaraz has already secured impressive achievements, with tournament earnings amounting to $64 million. His extraordinary popularity has attracted many brand endorsements, greatly increasing his net worth at the age of 22. Nadal also reached similar heights early in his career; he bought his first yacht, "Beethoven," in 2016, sold it in 2019, and acquired "Great White" in 2020—an 80-foot luxury yacht valued at $6 million.

Although it may seem Alcaraz is following Nadal's path, he himself insists it is not entirely so. In an interview with Robb Report discussing this purchase plan, he revealed the idea of buying a yacht first emerged after his defeat to Djokovic in the 2024 Paris Olympics final. Following that heartbreaking loss, he stayed briefly on a luxury yacht and became captivated by its lavish style.

Now Alcaraz has finalized the purchase of an 88 Ultima model yacht, which is 8 feet longer than Nadal's yacht, with a price between $9 and $10 million. This yacht features five guest cabins and numerous luxury amenities, including a stern leisure area with foldable bulwarks, and is currently still in the design and construction phase. Upon completion, he plans to sail with family and friends.

“I decided to order the Ultima 88 from catamaran manufacturer Sunreef because I believe they are not only experts in luxury catamarans but true trendsetters,” Alcaraz stated in the interview. “Collaborating with them to create this yacht assures me it will be the perfect choice for relaxation and recovery. I feel Sunreef shares my dynamic spirit; we are a perfect match.”

“Yes. I simply love yachts,” he added. “I’ve adored the sea since childhood. Occasionally I need to escape everything. For me, sailing with family and friends is the ideal experience.”

The news of Alcaraz’s lavish expenditure emerged just as he exited the Miami Open in the third round. Earlier this year, he displayed unstoppable form, winning the Australian Open and Qatar Open, but concluded his hardcourt season with an early exit. However, setbacks in Miami are not unfamiliar to him.

In the 2025 Miami Open second round, Alcaraz was eliminated by Goffin. Subsequently, his performance surged; he reached 10 finals and claimed 7 titles in the remaining season events, starting with his victory at the Monte Carlo Masters at the outset of the clay season.

After stopping in the third round of this year’s Miami Open, Alcaraz strives to replicate history and demonstrate dominant performances again in the upcoming clay season. He is the defending champion of the Monte Carlo Masters, Italian Open, and French Open, and must deliver strong results in the clay season to avoid losing his world No.1 ranking to Sinner. The Italian player is competing in Miami; if he wins the title, the points gap with Alcaraz would shrink to just 1190.(Source: Tennis Home, Author: Spark)
