With this year's Miami Open victory, Sinner achieved a historic milestone by officially becoming the first male player since Roger Federer in 2017 to complete the "Sunshine Double" (winning two consecutive Masters 1000 tournaments - Indian Wells and Miami in the same year).
This achievement places Sinner alongside the greatest players in history, including Novak Djokovic, Andre Agassi, Pete Sampras, and Michael Chang.
Sinner's form this year is exceptionally high, with his unbeaten streak in Masters 1000 events extending to 17 matches. Winning titles in both California and Florida without dropping a single set is a powerful statement of Sinner's strong return on hard courts.
The Miami Open 2026 is also Sinner's seventh Masters 1000 career title. The Italian player currently trails world No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz by 1,190 points on the ATP live rankings.
As expected, second seed Jannik Sinner did not lose any set in the final against player Jiri Lehecka, winning 6-4, 6-4, thereby claiming the Miami Open 2026 championship.
For Lehecka, the 24-year-old Czech player made his first appearance in a Masters 1000 final. With this result, Lehecka will rise to world No. 14, the highest ranking in his career.
