Ronaldo sustains an "unbearable" injury after taking a full hit from the current world number one tennis player - Carlos Alcaraz.
Football legend Ronaldo Nazario — also known by the nickname "Fat Ronaldo" — recently shared an interesting yet equally painful story, as he suffered shoulder inflammation lasting several months after a friendly match with the world's number one tennis player Carlos Alcaraz.
The meeting between the two sports stars took place at the Miami Invitational event (USA) late last year, where Alcaraz had the chance to face one of his childhood idols, and Ronaldo — a tennis enthusiast — got to directly hold a racket and compete with the world's top player. However, this friendly match unexpectedly left consequences for the former Brazilian star.
Sharing on the channel CazeTV, Ronaldo revealed he had shoulder issues after being hit by a powerful shot from Alcaraz.
"I had shoulder inflammation from that, around November. At first everything was fine, I could keep up with his shots. But then there was one ball, he hit me — very hard.", Ronaldo recounted.
The 49-year-old former striker said the pain initially lasted only a few days, but then became more severe when he returned to Brazil. "When I arrived in Sao Paulo, my shoulder hurt so much I couldn't greet anyone normally.", he added.
Despite the rare injury, "Fat Ronaldo" still praised Alcaraz extensively. He described the Spanish tennis player as friendly, approachable, and highly charismatic, fitting the image of a top world champion.
On the other hand, Alcaraz also expressed surprise at Ronaldo's tennis ability. The young player said he had watched videos of this football legend before, but when competing directly, he realized Ronaldo played even better than expected. "He even asked me to hit faster and performed very impressively.", Carlitos shared.
