OFFICIAL: Serena-Venus Williams 'sister act' at Wimbledon 2026

The Williams sisters will take part in the year's third Grand Slam tournament through a wildcard spot.

Serena Williams and Venus Williams will together return to the grass courts of Wimbledon 2026 after receiving a wildcard for the women's doubles event. The news, just announced by the tournament organizers, immediately captured the attention of tennis fans worldwide, marking the long-awaited reunion of the legendary siblings nearly four years since they last teamed up.

According to an announcement from the All England Club, Serena and Venus Williams will feature in the women's doubles at Wimbledon—the third Grand Slam of the year, set to begin in less than two weeks. This event becomes even more special as Serena has just returned to professional competition after nearly four years away, while Venus continues to play in select tournaments despite being 46 years old.

In modern tennis history, Serena and Venus are regarded as one of the most successful duos of all time. The sisters have together won 14 Grand Slam women's doubles titles, including six Wimbledon championships. Their first title on this prestigious grass court came in 2000, while their most recent trophy was in 2016.

The last time Serena and Venus played together was at the US Open 2022. That was also their first match as a pair after more than four years. However, that campaign ended in the opening round.

Serena's return is generating high expectations among fans. Last week, the former world number one surprised everyone by reappearing at the Queen's Club and winning her first doubles match alongside Canadian rising star Victoria Mboko. However, the pair had to withdraw afterward due to a knee injury Mboko sustained in singles play.

At the recent Berlin Open, Serena continued testing herself by partnering with Karolina Muchova. Yet, the duo was eliminated after a 4-6, 2-6 loss to Giuliana Olmos and Erin Routliffe.

The appearance of Serena and Venus together at Wimbledon is not only significant from a competitive standpoint but also creates one of the most compelling stories of this tennis summer. Given their rich history and unique appeal, the Williams sisters are expected to deliver emotionally charged moments at the tournament they have often dominated.
