Djokovic's first opponent revealed, Sinner's post-Roland Garros 2026 status

Neither Novak Djokovic nor Jannik Sinner featured in any official events between the two Grand Slams: Roland Garros and Wimbledon.

The world's top two tennis stars, Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic, will take part in the prestigious Giorgio Armani Tennis Classic exhibition at Hurlingham Club (London), an event regarded as the final dress rehearsal before Wimbledon 2026 kicks off.

This exhibition tournament brings together many well-known ATP Tour players, played on traditional grass courts and held just before the year's third Grand Slam. Notably, Sinner and Djokovic are skipping any official grass-court tournaments since Roland Garros, instead choosing Hurlingham as their final preparation stop for the Wimbledon campaign.

For Nole, this is a familiar choice. In recent seasons, the former world No. 1 often skips warm-up events to focus entirely on Wimbledon. Meanwhile, Sinner's decision draws more attention, as the world No. 1 had played the Halle Open for two consecutive years previously. Despite leaving empty-handed there last season after a loss to Alexander Bublik, the Italian later went on to win Wimbledon.

Djokovic and Sinner will play the exhibition event to prepare for this year's Wimbledon.

"We are thrilled to welcome the world's best players to Hurlingham. The return of Novak Djokovic and the first appearance of Jannik Sinner promise a week of top-level tennis for fans.", said a tournament organizer representative.

Besides Sinner and Djokovic, this year's event also features several other notable ATP Tour names. Highlights include Ben Shelton, currently ranked world No. 5, along with Flavio Cobolli, the Roland Garros runner-up. Also present are familiar faces such as Casper Ruud, Tommy Paul, Karen Khachanov, Cameron Norrie, Jiri Lehecka, Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, and Learner Tien.

The presence of many top ATP players makes the Giorgio Armani Tennis Classic one of the highest-quality exhibition events before Wimbledon. Although not an official competition, it remains an important opportunity for the stars to refine their grass-court feel and test their form before tackling the biggest goals of the summer.
