Fez and Zverev have faced each other four times before, with Zverev holding the upper hand with 3 wins and 1 loss. In this match, Fez suffered a crucial break in the first set, and although he fought back with all his might on Zverev's serve, he eventually lost the first set 3-6. In the second set, Fez won three games in a row in the opening set to establish an advantage, and dragged the game into the deciding set 6-3. In the deciding set, Zverev broke first to take a 3-1 lead, but then Fez won four games in a row to seal the victory 6-4.

Last year's runner-up Dimitrov battled 23rd seed Serundolo in the quarter-finals in three sets and saved a match point to win 6-7(6)/6-4/7-6(3). Dimitrov, who first reached the semi-finals, will await the winner between Djokovic and Koda, after the match has been postponed until tomorrow due to the ATP deadline.
