WTA Stuttgart: Paulini and Navarro advance to the second round, Feter knocks out Vekic

On April 15, local time, the WTA500 Stuttgart station launched the first round of the women's singles, and the two top ten seeds, Paulini and Navarro, each swept to advance. In the other night match, Navarro won the battle of top 20 players with a 6-3, 6-0 "egg" to Brazilian sister Maia, and this year was Navarro's first appearance in Stuttgart. Maya has now suffered a nine-game losing streak since reaching the third round of this year's Australian Open. Navarro will face a Grand Slam champion in the second round, Ostapenko, who received a retirement gift from Jastremska after leading 6-3, 3-0 in the first round.

In the remaining matches, Fetter, who had made it through the qualifying round, defeated compatriot Vekic 7-6(2), 6-4 to face Poland's Swiatek in the second round. In a Russian derby, Aleksandrova defeated Samsonova in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3.
