The Wimbledon main draw list was released, and seven people from Chinese mainland were directly shortlisted

The 2025 French Open has not yet officially started, and the main draw for the third Grand Slam tournament of the year, Wimbledon, was officially announced yesterday.

The Women's Singles is led by Sabalenka and Gauff, while defending champion Klejcikova and two former champions, Rybakina and Vondrousova, are also listed.

In Men's Singles, Alcaraz, the defending champion of this year's tournament, and the current Men's Singles world No. 1 Sinner will compete with a group of talented players. The Wimbledon main draw will also take place from 30 June to 13 July, and fans are looking forward to the Grand Slam tournament with a top-notch line-up.

In terms of Chinese players, Zheng Qinwen, Wang Xinyu and Yuan Yue directly entered the main draw by virtue of their world rankings. Compared to the Australian Open runner-up, two US Open women's singles quarterfinals and the French Open's best performance in the fourth round, Zheng Qinwen's results at the All England Club are relatively average.

Zheng Qinwen, who participated in Wimbledon for the first time in 2022, eliminated Stephens and Minyon in the first two rounds to reach the third round, and finally lost to 17th seed Rybakina to miss the women's singles round of 16, and the latter defeated Martic, Tomjanovic and Halep in succession to reach the final, and beat Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in the final to win the title.

In the subsequent 2023 and 2024 seasons, Zheng Qinwen made his debut at Wimbledon as a seeded player, but lost to Siniakova and Sun Lulu in the first round respectively.

Wang Xinyu made a historic breakthrough at Wimbledon last year, beating Tomova, Pegula and Dart to reach the Women's Singles round of 16, before losing to Svitolina in the quarter-finals.

Jinhua Yuan Yue stopped in the first round at Wimbledon last year with a score of 2-6 3-6. Zhu Lin, who will play at Wimbledon this year with her protection rankings, reached the third round last year (beating Begu and Pavlyuchenkova in the first two rounds and losing to qualifier Sun Lulu in the third round).

Compared with last year's women's singles, a total of 9 people appeared in the main tournament (Zheng Qinwen, Zhang Shuai, Wang Xinyu, Bai Zhuoxuan, Zhu Lin, Wang Qiang, Wang Yafan, Wang Xiyu, Yuan Yue), this year's number of people is much less.

However, there is still one more Chinese player directly qualified for the men's singles main draw - in addition to Zhang Zhizhen and Shang Juncheng, Buyun Chaoket also directly entered the main draw by virtue of the world ranking.

Last year's best Chinese men's tennis record at Wimbledon was Zhang Zhizhen and Shang Juncheng reaching the second round together, the two eliminated Jean Vie and Garin in the first round, and lost to Struff and Dimitrov in the second round.(Source: Tennis House Author: Barbie)
