Five bold predictions for this year's French Open! Which do you think will come true?

The French Open kicks off today, and it's time to make some bold predictions. Major tournaments like the French Open are often unexpected, so there's never been a better time to make bold predictions. Whether Alcaraz could face off again and beat Djokovic, or Gauff surpass Swiatek, that will be revealed below.

Here are five bold predictions for the upcoming French Open:

1. Alcaraz may succeed in revenge

Alcaraz is not in the same half as Djokovic, so they can only meet in the final. If they do meet in the final, then the Spaniard could well get his revenge.

Novak Djokovic has regained some form in Geneva recently, but he is still not performing at the same level as before, which is not enough at the French Open. Alcaraz, on the other hand, has proven at the Rome Masters that he always plays at his best when it matters most. If he gets the chance to face Djokovic in Paris again, he will certainly not make the mistake of the Olympic final.

That game Alcaraz could have won, but he missed the chance at a crucial moment. The more the match progressed, the more calm Djokovic became, while Alcaraz became more and more nervous and finally failed to have another chance to fight back.

2. Djokovic will not enter the final

Building on the previous prediction, it can be further predicted that Djokovic may not be able to reach the final. It's not just that the draw is in his favour – there are no obvious opponents in the early rounds, but his current form is still in doubt. His performances in Geneva, while close to the best, were not close enough to believe that he would make it all the way to the final.

To reach the final, Djokovic will need to beat a top player like Sinner, which doesn't look realistic. Even if he was in good form at certain times, it was a different level of challenge considering the French Open was a best-of-five format.

3. Gauff will overtake Swiatek

Gauff has been outperforming Swiatek for a while. From this point of view, this prediction is not particularly "bold", because she is indeed in better form.

Still, a breakthrough at an occasion like the French Open is of special significance. Swiatek has been almost invincible at the French Open in recent years, and last year she won the title again, which has almost become her "home turf". But last year's Olympics also proved that she can be beaten on this court. She hasn't been in great form lately, and Gauff beat her in Madrid, even with an easy victory.

Although the clay conditions in Paris are more suited to Swiatek's style of play than Madrid, she is unlikely to adjust quickly in the short term. Therefore, Gauff is highly likely to overtake Swiatek at the French Open, and if the two meet, Gauff has a higher probability of winning.

4. Sabalenka will not win the French Open

Another relatively bold prediction is that Sabalenka will not win the French Open despite being the top seed. Although there are not many players who can reach the level of a Grand Slam champion at the moment, Sabalenka is undoubtedly one of them.

Her performance on clay has improved significantly compared to the past, but she is still not a "natural clay player". She almost reached the final of the French Open a few years ago, but overall, she struggled more on this court than on any other.

With so many rookies rising rapidly, Sabalenka is likely to run into obstacles, and she's already lost a couple of finals this year, so it's no surprise to lose another one.

5. Neither the male nor female top seeds will win the championship

The final prediction is that neither the top seed will win the French Open this year, nor will the top seeds. This prediction is based on the current competitive landscape in tennis. Women's tennis has always been uncertain, and the men's side has begun to move towards that situation in recent years. So it's no surprise that even the top seed failed to win the title.

In fact, we may not even see last year's champions and runners-up meet in the finals, because there are now many players on both sides of the men's and women's teams who are very competitive. Tennis is so unpredictable at times, and we may never see the results that we expect.(Source: Tennis Home Author: Spark)
