Recently, Tsitsipas's agency confirmed on Thursday that former Wimbledon champion and Djokovic's former coach, Goran Ivanisevic, will be the new coach of the Greek first brother.
A well-known figure in the tennis world, Ivanisevic has had a successful career, with an ATP ranking of No. 2 in the world. It is worth mentioning that between 2019 and 2024, he worked with tennis legend and 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic. This time, Ivanisevic plans to officially start his journey with Tsitsipas before the grass court season.
Tsitsipas' agency posted on Instagram that it was looking forward to the partnership:
"This exciting collaboration coincides with the start of the 2025 grass court season and Tsitsipas is looking to elevate his performance at one of the sport's most prestigious venues."
These words also show the longing and determination of both parties for the future grass court season.
However, Tsitsipas' recent form has not been as good as it could have been. In the second round of the French Open, he lost to Matteo Gigante, a defeat that dropped him to No. 26 in the ATP rankings. A former ATP Finals champion who currently sits 17th in the Instant Championship Rankings, he still faces a huge challenge in qualifying for the season-end finale.
Tsitsipas has had bright moments this season, such as winning the ATP 500 in Dubai in February, but has an overall record of 18 wins and 11 losses. Now, the 26-year-old is pinning his hopes on new coach Ivanisevic to turn things around for the rest of the year, make a comeback and regain his former glory on the court.
