Vi Thị Như Quỳnh was a key player in helping the Vietnam women's volleyball team make history in their opening match at the world championship.
On the evening of August 23rd, the Vietnam women's volleyball team started their 2025 World Championship group stage against Poland. Although they lost 1-3, Coach Tuấn Kiệt’s team surprised by winning the first set 25-23. This marked the first set victory for Vietnam’s women’s volleyball team in their debut at the world championship.
However, in sets 2 and 3, Poland showed total dominance, winning 25-10 and 25-12 thanks to their superior height and effective blocking. The fourth set witnessed a strong chase from the Vietnamese girls, but they ultimately lost 22-25, failing to push the match to a decisive set.
Regarding scoring efficiency, Poland’s volleyball team had several outstanding players. Outside hitter Stysiak scored 29 points, including 23 attacks and 6 blocks, with an efficiency of 29.23%. Captain Korneluk contributed 16 points through well-rounded attacking and blocking. Additionally, Lukasik added 16 points.
