The Thailand women's volleyball team started well with a 3-1 win over Egypt, with all three sets won by the hosts showing a clear margin. Pimpichaya Kokram continued her impressive performance in international competitions this year, extending her strong form from the VNL in June-July.
A win against Sweden will almost guarantee Thailand a place in the round of 16 of this year's World Championship, a goal that coach Kiattipong's team can realistically achieve. However, Pimpichaya and her teammates must pay special attention to Isabelle Haak, a highly skilled attacker in the Nordic squad.
