The 2025 World Championship marks a historic moment for Vietnamese women's volleyball with their first-ever participation in this prestigious event. Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team qualified for Thailand by securing a top 4 finish at the 2023 Asian Championship.

The reigning world champion is Serbia, who defeated Brazil 3-0 in 2022. Serbia's star player Tijana Boskovic is the current MVP of the tournament.
