Coach Nguyễn Tuấn Kiệt firmly stated one thing

The Vietnam women's volleyball team was defeated by Germany in their second Group G match, officially exiting the competition but remaining resolved to achieve an honorable win over Kenya.

The Vietnam women's volleyball team suffered their second consecutive loss at the 2025 World Championship after falling to Germany in the Group G match. This result means Coach Nguyễn Tuấn Kiệt's squad no longer has a chance to advance to the knockout stage. Nevertheless, the entire team remains optimistic and is determined to win their final match against Kenya on August 27 in Phuket, Thailand.

After the match, Coach Nguyễn Tuấn Kiệt affirmed that his players gave their utmost effort. He noted that differences in skill level and physical stature made it difficult for Vietnam to surprise Germany, but emphasized that the team's fighting spirit never waned.

“The players did not perform poorly at all. From the start, our goal was to give our best to avoid heavy defeats and seek chances to win. The key point is they showed dedication and kept trying without giving up,” he stressed.

On the other side, Germany’s Coach Giulio Cesare Bregoli praised the progress of Asian women's volleyball, including Vietnam. He believes major tournaments like the World Championship provide an ideal environment for teams to improve their skills and mental toughness. “Participating in high-level competitions like this allows players to gain valuable experience and develop their skills and competitive mindset faster,” the strategist commented.

With two losses against Poland and Germany, the Vietnam women's team has officially been eliminated from the group stage. However, the final match against Kenya still holds significance—not only to seek a respectful victory but also to firmly assert that their presence at such a prestigious tournament is earned through relentless effort, not luck.

In the past, Vietnam has faced Kenya twice, both times with positive outcomes. In 2023, the two teams met at the FIVB Challenge Cup and later in a friendly match during training in Đông Anh (Hanoi), where Vietnam won 4-0.

In the upcoming rematch, Thanh Thúy and her teammates aim to maintain their favorable record and close the tournament with a win to thank their supporters. Although they cannot advance further, their performances against top teams like Poland and Germany show that Vietnam is steadily closing the gap, gaining experience, and preparing better for future major competitions.
