Former national women's volleyball player will not participate in the 2025 National Championship

Middle blocker Bùi Thị Ngà remains absent during the second stage of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship even though she has been training diligently with the team lately.

Veteran middle blocker Bùi Thị Ngà will not be part of the Thông tin - Đông Bắc lineup in the second phase of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship due to not being in optimal physical condition. The coaching staff confirmed that they will not register this former national player for competition, instead planning other personnel options for the middle blocker position.

Previously, in phase one, Bùi Thị Ngà was included in the preliminary roster but could not participate because she had not yet regained sufficient fitness. During preparations for phase two, she also missed the training camp in Shanghai (China) with the entire team.

Coach Phạm Văn Long stated that this absence was anticipated and the coaching team has already prepared replacement plans.

Bùi Thị Ngà was once one of Vietnam's top female middle blockers, making significant contributions to the national team. Standing 1.86 meters tall, she was known for her blocking ability at the net and served as a key defensive player for Thông tin - Đông Bắc.

Before taking a break from competition to recover from injury and start a family, she represented the national team at the 2019 SEA Games 30.

Meanwhile, Thông tin - Đông Bắc is highly determined for phase two. After five matches in phase one, they recorded three wins and two losses, currently standing in third place in the women's category. The team recently completed a training camp in China and is scheduled to arrive in Ninh Bình in early October to prepare for crucial upcoming matches.

Notably, Thông tin - Đông Bắc has just welcomed a quality foreign player, Russian outside hitter Irina Voronkova. The 1.90-meter-tall attacker, born in 1995, arrived in Vietnam on September 24 and quickly began training with her new teammates.

With experience competing in many major European and Asian tournaments, Voronkova’s presence is expected to strengthen the attacking power of the team in their race for a semifinal spot.

The second phase of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship will take place in Ninh Bình from October 7 to 16. This is considered a major challenge for Thông tin - Đông Bắc as they must fiercely compete with LPBank Ninh Bình and Geleximco Hưng Yên for a place in the top 4.
