Several foreign athletes have promptly gathered with their new teams, prepared for the upcoming stage two of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship.
The atmosphere is heating up for the second phase of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship, marked by the arrival of numerous foreign players at various clubs. Reports show that these international newcomers are swiftly adapting and starting training alongside their new teammates.
Russian outside hitter Irina Voronkova has joined Thong Tin - Dong Bac and begun training in Hanoi. The club representative stated that Voronkova is an experienced player with a professional attitude, quickly adjusting to the team’s playing style in time for the tournament preparations.
At the Vietnam Bank for Industry and Trade team, outside hitter Anna Belyanskaya has arrived in Ninh Binh and joined the team’s training camp. This addition is expected to boost the team’s offensive power in upcoming matches.
At Duc Giang Lao Cai Chemical, two familiar faces from Thailand—setter Tichaya Boonlert and outside hitter Kuttika Kaewpin—are training intensively. Tichaya, having been with the team for a long time, has no trouble integrating, while Kuttika, who previously played in Vietnam, quickly reconnects with her former teammates.
Compared to the previous phase, the number of female Thai foreign players in this tournament has reduced to just two. Most teams have turned to European players to strengthen their squads. Coach Thai Thanh Tung of Ninh Binh mentioned that outside hitter Miroslava Paskova (Bulgaria) will arrive in Vietnam this weekend, while Helena Grozer from Hung Yen is expected on September 28.
Teams are rushing to finalize their rosters as the competition date approaches. Phase two of the 2025 National Championship will take place from October 7 to 16. Before the opening day, on October 16, the organizers will hold a technical meeting to finalize the official list of 14 players per team, including the newly joined foreign players.
