Bích Tuyền is about to receive an unprecedented decision during the second phase of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship.

If this scenario comes true, Bích Tuyền would become the second player in the past two years in Vietnamese women's volleyball to hold a dual role simultaneously. Previously, in the 2024 season, VTV Bình Điền Long An made a statement by bringing veteran middle blocker Nguyễn Thị Ngọc Hoa back to the playing list while she also served as assistant coach. Ngọc Hoa not only fulfilled her playing duties but also helped lead the team to a national championship. In the 2025 season, she participated in phase one but withdrew from playing in phase two to fully dedicate herself as head coach.

Meanwhile, Ninh Bình's coaching staff is currently quite strong. Besides head coach Thái Thanh Tùng, there are assistants Nguyễn Xuân Thành, Phan Quốc Hội, and notably former Công Thương Bank coach Phạm Kim Huệ, who joined the team in May 2025. If approved, adding Bích Tuyền as an assistant would provide the coaching team with a direct link between coaches and players.

Along with changes in the coaching staff, Ninh Bình has also welcomed back quality foreign player Miroslava Paskova (Bulgaria). She played in phase one and was instrumental in a five-match winning streak, confirming the team as a top contender for the championship. Currently playing professionally in the U.S., Paskova is expected to continue as a key scorer, sharing attacking duties with Bích Tuyền.

In recent seasons, Ninh Bình has consistently been among Vietnam’s top teams. They won the national championship in 2023 and maintained steady results by finishing in the top four from 2021 through 2024. A major contributor to this success has been the outstanding performance of Bích Tuyền—a powerful two-handed setter-hitter who always plays the role of the main offensive spark in important matches. However, to avoid overloading their top attacker, the coaching staff regularly recruits quality foreign players to strengthen the attack.

The roster for the recent first phase was also noteworthy. Besides Bích Tuyền, experienced domestic players such as Yến Nhi, Bách Hợp, Thanh Diệu, Kim Liên, Hoài Mi, Thanh Thúy, Thu Hà, Nguyễn Thị Trinh, Đinh Thị Thúy, Ánh Thảo, Lưu Thị Huệ, and Bích Nga were included. Among them, Thanh Thúy and Nguyễn Thị Trinh had just returned from the 2025 World Championship, while Ánh Thảo made a mark at the U21 World Championship the same year.

With careful preparation both in terms of personnel on and off the court, the Ninh Bình women's team is aiming to solidify its standing in phase two. Should Bích Tuyền officially take on the dual roles, it will be a special highlight, enhancing her coaching experience while allowing the team to fully leverage one of Vietnam’s top volleyball stars today.
