Is Bích Tuyền being considered for a coaching role?

Outside hitter Nguyễn Thị Bích Tuyền is expected to be listed in two roles during the second phase of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship.

Nguyễn Thị Bích Tuyền, the key attacker for the Ninh Bình women's team, is very likely to take on a dual role in the second stage of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship, which will be held at home in Ninh Bình from October 7 to 16.

According to information from SGGP, Coach Thái Thanh Tùng is considering registering Bích Tuyền both as a player and as an assistant coach. The final decision will be made at the technical meeting on October 6.

The case of a player also serving as an assistant coach is not entirely new. In 2024, VTV Bình Điền Long An attracted attention by registering Nguyễn Thị Ngọc Hoa officially in two roles simultaneously. This combination proved effective as Ngọc Hoa and her teammates won the national championship. In the 2025 season, Ngọc Hoa retired from playing to fully focus on her head coach position.

For Ninh Bình, the coaching staff currently includes head coach Thái Thanh Tùng alongside assistants Nguyễn Xuân Thành, Phan Quốc Hội, and former coach Phạm Kim Huệ, who joined the team in May this year. The presence of Bích Tuyền in a dual role is expected to enhance the connection between the coaching staff and players on the court.

On September 29, foreign player Miroslava Paskova (Bulgaria) also arrived to reunite with Ninh Bình for phase 2. This is Paskova’s second time playing for the team, and she is expected to continue as the main scorer. During phase 1, the Bulgarian attacker significantly contributed to the team's 5-match winning streak, demonstrating her adaptability and effectiveness in play.
